Art Scholarship
(maximum award $5,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Art Scholarship recognizes a student’s
proven talent in the area of the visual arts, commitment to academic
excellence and service to their school and community. Application
requirements: submit a portfolio of artwork (digital images), a one page essay
describing your experience with art and why you study it and a letter of recommendation from
an art teacher. A stamped, self-addressed envelope should be included if the disc is to be returned. The portfolio should demonstrate your skill, interest and background
in art. Inclusion of some drawing samples is favored. Scholarship
recipients are selected annually by art faculty. Students must be
admitted to the College prior to scholarship consideration.
Renewable: students must participate in art
department activities and classes. Major or minor not required, but recommended.
Music Scholarship
(maximum award $5,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Music Scholarship recognizes a student’s
proven talent in the area of vocal and instrumental music, commitment
to academic excellence and service to their school and community.
Application requirements: auditions are preferred in person but may tapes may be submitted for consideration,
from 8-10 minutes in length and should include one major and one minor two-octave scale. It must include one or more selections from classical
or jazz repertoire. Selections should reflect ability and experience
and may be of a contrasting nature. Auditions may be on two different
instruments. Tapes submitted to the faculty must be of high quality
on disc or DVD with contents clearly labeled. A stamped self-addressed envelope should be included if the tapes
are to be returned. Scholarship recipients are selected annually
by music faculty. Students must be admitted to the College prior
to scholarship consideration.
Renewable: students must participate in at
least one department ensemble each semester. Major or minor not required.
Theatre Scholarship
(maximum award $5,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Theatre Scholarship recognizes a student’s
proven talent in the area of the performing arts, commitment to academic
excellence and service to their school and community. Application
requirements: for acting, an on-campus personal interview, two letters
of recommendation, audition (prepared optional); for design/technical,
on-campus personal and technical/design experience interview and
two letters of recommendation (design/technical evidence optional).
The theatre faculty select scholarship recipients annually. Students
must be admitted to the College prior to scholarship consideration.
Renewable: students must participate in a
significant manner in four to six productions during their four years at Ripon.
Major or minor not required but recommended.
Forensics Scholarship
($5,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Forensics Scholarship recognizes a student’s
commitment to academic excellence and service to their school and
community. The Forensics Scholarship requires an on-campus interview,
proven success and talent in the area of forensics, and a thorough
review of the candidate’s academic credentials, community service
activities and references.
Renewable: students must annually
participate in three invitational's, the Wisconsin state tournament
and, if qualified, the national tournament, maintain enrollment
as a full-time student and satisfactory progress towards a four
year degree as published in the Ripon College catalog.
Diversity Award
($5,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Diversity Award recognizes a student's solid
high school academic performance, demonstrated leadership qualities,
and our personal belief that the student will contribute to the cultural,
ethnic, geographical and socio-economic diversity of Ripon's student
body. The Diversity Award, valued at $5,000 annually, requires prior
acceptance to the College, a special award application, nomination
and personal essay, followed by a thorough review of the candidate’s
academic credentials, community service activities and references.
Renewable: students must maintain enrollment
as a full-time student and satisfactory progress towards a four-year degree
as published in the Ripon College catalog.

Ripon College to be considered for this award. Diversity Award applications
will not be read unless you are an admitted student to Ripon College and this

Valedictorian Scholarship
($6,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Valedictorian Scholarship recognizes a student’s
outstanding commitment to academic pursuits and service to their
school and community. The Valedictorian Scholarship requires acceptance
to the College followed by a thorough review of the candidate’s
academic credentials, community service activities and references.
Renewable: students must maintain enrollment
as a full-time student and satisfactory progress towards a four-year degree
as published in the Ripon College catalog.
Service Award
($5,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Service Award recognizes a student’s
commitment to studies, service to their school and community, and
demonstrated leadership skills. The Service Award, valued at $5,000
annually, requires prior acceptance to the College followed by a
thorough review of the candidate’s academic credentials, community
service involvement, leadership roles, and essay. The academic criteria
for the Service Award are a high school GPA of 2.75 - 3.20, ACT composite
of 20-23 or SAT combined score of 950 - 1070.

Boy/Girl State Award
(maximum award $4,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Boy/Girl State Award was established to recognize
a student’s selection and participation in their state's annual
Boy/Girl State Conference each summer. By their involvement in this
prestigious program, the candidate has thoroughly demonstrated leadership
and commitment to our nation’s democratic ideals. Students
must be admitted to the College prior to award consideration. Renewable: students
must maintain enrollment as a full-time student and satisfactory
progress towards a four-year degree as published in the Ripon College catalog.
William J. Woolley History Scholarship
($2,500 per year)
As an admitted applicant interested in pursuing history as a major
at Ripon College, Dr. Woolley would like to invite you to be a candidate
for the prestigious Woolley History Scholarship. This tuition scholarship
is valued at $2,500 annually (for a total value of $10,000 over four
years), and is renewable provided the recipient maintains satisfactory
progress towards a Ripon degree and continues to major in history.
National Latin Exam Scholarship
($2,000 per year)
Any student admitted to Ripon College who has earned at least a Magna
designation on the Level II or higher National Latin Exam will qualify.
The Latin Exam Award requires acceptance to the College and documentation
of the exam results.
Renewable: students must take one Latin, Greek,
or Classics course the first year, maintain enrollment as a full-time student
and satisfactory progress towards a degree in any major.
Legacy Award
($2,000 per year)
Ripon College’s Legacy Award recognizes a student’s commitment
to the liberal arts and sciences, along with their decision to enroll
at their (father/mother/brother/sister/grandmother/grandfather's)
alma mater. The Legacy Award requires acceptance to the College followed
by a thorough review of the candidate’s academic credentials,
community service activities and references.
Renewable: students must maintain enrollment
as a full-time student and satisfactory progress towards a four-year degree
as published in the Ripon College catalog.
United Church of Christ (UCC) Award
($2,000 per year)
The Ripon College (name of minister) United Church of Christ Award
assists students who are actively involved in the UCC and who wish
to attend Ripon College. It also recognizes a student’s commitment
to academic excellence and service to their school and community.
The UCC Award, valued at $2000 annually, requires prior acceptance
to the College followed by a thorough review of the candidate’s
academic credentials, community service activities, and a special
application and nomination from the student's minister. Renewable:
students must maintain enrollment as a full-time student and satisfactory
progress towards a four-year degree as published in the Ripon College catalog.
