{ Meet Lyn McCarthy }

Greetings from Southeastern Wisconsin!

I'm Lyn McCarthy, a 1983 graduate of Ripon College and the Regional Director of Admission for southeastern Wisconsin. At Ripon, I majored in music and also became certified to teach elementary education. I enjoyed participating in a variety of activities on campus, including choral union, colleguim musicum, student government, a couple of theater productions, orchestra and intramural sports, and I was active in a sorority. I really appreciated the chance to continue my involvement in activities I had enjoyed in high school as well as try new opportunities. I was a "townie," having grown up in Ripon, but as a student, I lived in the residence halls and loved the academic and social atmosphere on campus.

After I graduated, I did a little traveling and then began my admission career as a counselor for Ripon. After five years on the Ripon College admission staff, I moved to Milwaukee where I was the assistant director of admissions at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Ten years ago, I was given the opportunity to again work for Ripon as a regional representative.

I now live in Mequon and work out of an office in our home. I travel up to Ripon College a couple of times each month and always enjoy being "home" and back on campus. My husband, Tim, is the director of bands at Glen Hills Middle School in Glendale, and we have two daughters, 10-year-old Sarah and Katie, who is 7. They're great little kids, and I hope that someday they'll be students at Ripon College!
