"The study abroad program I participated in through Ripon College was one of the most important decisions I have ever made.  Not a day goes by that I don't look back at my time in Tanzania and wish I could go back there again.  I really discovered myself as a person and learned to observe everything in a new perspective.  This will continue to be one of the most influential and wonderful experiences of my life.  Ninapenda Tanzania san! { Off-Campus Study Programs }

Whether you choose a program that is international or domestic, it is an experience bound to change your view of the world.

Ripon College is affiliated with a variety of programs. You may select a program that provides specialized coursework in your major. Perhaps you want to explore a culture that is foreign to you or enhance your skills in another language. In general, full-time students in good academic standing are eligible to apply for admission to affiliated off-campus programs. In addition, program advisors can refer you to students who previously have participated in particular programs so you can talk with them directly about their experiences.

In choosing a program, consult with your academic advisor about how study on an off-campus program fits into your academic plans. The Office of the Registrar also can provide information about how credits and grades will count toward academic requirements and your degree.

Ripon College students may use one semester of their financial aid eligibility toward the costs of an affiliated off-campus program, and the Office of Financial Aid works closely with students to help these programs be as affordable as possible.

Costs may vary by program -- both direct charges as well as indirect expenses. To allow students the maximum financial aid possible, all off-campus programs will be charged the current Ripon College tuition or the program tuition, whichever is higher, as well as any associated fees. Financial aid is awarded toward the full program budget. Therefore, participation in a program with higher fees may result in greater financial aid eligibility.

Contact the Office of Financial Aid with any questions about program charges and available financial assistance. Students who elect to participate in non-affiliated programs will not be eligible for financial aid through Ripon College for that semester.

After your plans are finalized, inform your advisor and the appropriate campus offices (registrar, residence life, financial aid). It is important to give mailing addresses, including e-mail, to the Office of the Registrar so that registration materials, housing information and news about Ripon College can be sent to you while you are away.

Plan ahead. Plan well. And plan for an experience that may well change your world!
