{ Gold Group Membership }

Criteria: Open to selected students who (1) have completed the Red Program, (2) receive faculty recommendations and (3) demonstrate leadership potential in both academic and extracurricular settings.


Expectations:

  • ACADEMIC: Completion of approved courses (see below) equivalent to an interdisciplinary minor.
  • PRACTICAL: Service in two student leadership positions
  • SERVICE LEARNING: Service as a student adviser to Red Group for two years
  • Participation in all three major events (Ethics Bowl, Retreat and Workshop) during the undergraduate career (effective as of August 2006)
  • PORTFOLIO: Student will present to Ethical Leadership Certification panel their reflective essays regarding each of the academic, leadership and service-learning aspects of the program, along with a 10-page capstone essay written under the guidance of a mentor.


Outcomes:

Special certificate issued upon graduation for successful completion of Ethical Leadership Program.

Or another course approved by the associate director in which the student identifies an ethical issue and develops an exercise exploring and resolving the issue. The student will present the associate director a written analysis and response.
