Thursday, November 5th in Bear Auditorium from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Ms. Asha Jennings will speak to faculty, staff, students and community members.

 

Meet Asha Camille Jennings. She took a moral stand and
said, “No More!” regarding the negative depictions of
women in rap videos. Jennings’ grass roots efforts has helped
change the lives of many young women (and men) by reiteratingthat respect should be demanded in all aspects life by
saying, “Enough is enough.”  Jennings showed the rap industryand the world that the degradation and exploitation of women must stop...and not just in music videos.

At Spellman College, Jennings served as Sophomore Class
President, Student Government Vice President and President.  Jennings is passionate about politics and government. She is a graduate of New York University School of Law and is now working at King & Spalding, LLP in Atlanta as a business litigation associate.


In these positions she was instrumental in reorganizing the Spellman senate, registering more than 3,000 students to vote, raising money for the athletic department and brought cancer awareness to the college community
