Virtual Tour - First Floor }

   Welcome to the Ripon College Collaborative Learning Center VIRTUAL TOUR! Through this, you will be able to see the various opportunities that the CLC has to offer as well as get a better idea of what is available through the center. So, just keep scrolling down and see what the CLC can do for you!

Front Desk

 Whenever you enter the CLC, you are greeted by a capable and friendly mentor. All mentors are trained in problem solving, technical writing, communication and oral presentations, critical thinking, and other skills. They are cross-discipline mentors meaning that they are capable of aiding with any paper or presentation from any academic discipline.

  The mentors are also available online at the AIM screenname CLCMentorOnDuty. This name is signed on as long as the center is open. Hours of Operation can be seen here.

Table

  After leaving the front desk area you are in a room with a table and a few chairs as well as a large comfy couch! This area is very well suited for small group meetings with classes as well as private work that doesn't require a computer. However, this area is also very well suited for bringing your own laptop to work in a comfortable environment.  Many students also choose to use this environment for one on one sessions with the mentor on duty.

Do   Behind this comfortable study lounge is the downstairs computer lab. In the lab are four computers and a printer-- with FREE academic printing! You can come in and use these computers to work on papers and other homework or just to check your e-mail and surf the internet. Each computer comes with a very nice rolling chair that makes it easy to work on group projects and interact with other students.

Soda and Drinks

Around the corner from the downstairs computer lab is the kitchen. This is not only a work area to use laptops but also provides some refreshments ranging from coffee and tea to soda and hot chocolate. Soda is $0.50 a can and all the rest are completely free. There is also a microwave available for student use just in case you want to bring your own food and enjoy it in the center.

  Off to the side of the kitchen, in between the kitchen and the computer lab is a little nook. Aside from being a supply for many extra reams of paper so that we don't run out, it is also a viewing area for the many videos on reserve in the center. Professors from all Mentor Nookthe various disciplines around campus place movies on reserve for their classes for the viewing convenience of students. You can just come to the center and tell the mentor on duty which film you want, and you will be able to watch it in any of the various locations around the center.

That's it for the first floor, but that is definitely not it for the building. Click on the stairs below to see what we have available on the second floor!
