The Red Hawk Forensics Institute is an extension of the commitment to forensics made by Ripon College.
The Institute is an intense four day experience in forensics. Attending the Red Hawk Institute will help you focus your preparation for the upcoming forensics season. Your learning can span any one of the three genres of forensics competition: oral interpretation, limited preparation and public address will be covered in lecture, interactive workshops, and in individual practice sessions. You will improve your research and library skills at Ripon College's Lane Library. Students also have access to several of the college's computer laboratories, including full Internet access.
The Red Hawk Forensics Institute will be held this year from Thursday, July 12, 2007 until Saturday, July 15, 2007. Tuition, Room and Board for the program is $250.
Features:
Faculty:Student Ratio: At the Red Hawk Forensics Institute, our goal is to help you meet your goals for the upcoming season. We know from the success of our own team that we can serve you best by keeping a low student-coach ratio. That's why we guarantee a ratio no larger than 5:1. You see, we know success is all about individual attention.
Preparation: At the Ripon Red Hawk Forensics Institute, we prepare you to be successful, not just in forensics, but academically as well. By attending the Institute, you will prepare events for your upcoming season and gain research and critical thinking skills which can be utilized in the classroom and in competition.
History and Tradition: Ripon College is steeped in forensics tradition. Ripon played an instrumental role in founding both the National Forensic League and Pi Kappa Delta. Pi Kappa Delta, the oldest forensics honorary society in America, houses its Hall of Fame in Ripon's East Hall. Because of Ripon's long tradition of excellence in both academics and forensics, we offer students a competitive forensics team and the kind of personalized education students can find only at a small, private liberal arts college.
The Formula to Success: By combining lectures by professors specializing in argument theory and oral interpretation techniques, as well as having practice and workshop sessions with experienced coaches, you will learn the skills you need to be successful in competition.
