Crossing Over... Interdisciplinary Science

At a liberal arts and science college like Ripon, cross-disciplinary study is not unusual for this very important reason: There is the distinct need in our rapidly changing world to broaden one’s outlook and expertise rather than narrowly defining it — what works today may not work quite as well tomorrow.

The psychobiology major is designed to emphasize such integrated learning and research in either of two general areas: physiological psychology or animal behavior. Working together with students, faculty of both the biology and psychology departments guide course work and research in laboratory and field settings.
