• South American interaction studies, cultural classification, mortuary and household analysis, mobility models, ceramic analysis.
• Problems with the archaeological definition of identity and interregional contact; issues of archaeology and nationalism, use of the past in modern identities.
• Public archaeology programs with elementary and high school students.
• The use of statistical methods in critical archaeology
