{ Notice to Education Students }

The Educational Studies Department curriculum is reviewed and has been approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.  All students seeking a teaching license are required to meet the standards addressed in this Handbook, the College Catalog and the pertinent advising materials distributed by the department.  Students should regularly meet with their educational studies/exercise science advisors to ensure compliance with relevant requirements and standards.  Each student is responsible for knowing and meeting the requirements for his/her program in a timely manner.

Title II Report

During the 2004-2005 academic year, the Educational Studies Department at Ripon College had 180 students officially enrolled in major, minor and/or certification programs.  During that year 42 students successfully completed their student teaching during fall and spring semesters.  4 students chose to student teach at a distance beyond our capacity to serve them.  They each identified college supervisors independently.  The supervisors were approved and paid by Ripon College.  Five students student taught in Chicago Public Schools through the ACM Urban Education Program.  Six students did not qualify to student teach.  One student was required to complete military service and did not student teach.  Each student teacher is observed 3-4 times in each 9-week placement (6-8 times in total).  Ripon College faculty earn the equivalent of 1 credit load for every two student teachers.
