RIPON, Wis. - Matt Dwyer hasn't wasted much time contributing to the Red Hawk baseball team. The freshman was named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday, as released by the conference office. This is the first Performer of the Week award by a Ripon baseball player this season.

Dwyer picked up two wins in his only two starts last week. In a 10-2 win at Carroll, he threw eight innings of five-hit ball, allowing one earned run, while striking out 10 batters. The Stoughton, Wis. native followed that up with a complete game six-hitter against Beloit on Sunday, posting 10 strikeouts once again, as he allowed just one earned run in a 4-3 Red Hawk victory. The wins helped Ripon establish a record for consecutive conference victories with 25, topping the previous mark of 19.
