CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Former Ripon College pitcher and reigning MWC Pitcher of the Year Jordan Baitinger recently took his game to the next level, making his professional baseball debut on July 14 with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.
Baitinger struggled early, allowing four singles to start off the game, while falling behind 3-0 to the Chillicothe Paints. After the first inning, he would settle into a groove, throwing three scoreless innings after that, allowing Evansville to tie the game at three. Baitinger then gave up a pair of solo home runs in the fifth, which would be the difference in the game.
Baitinger recorded one strikeout in his five innings of work, while walking one. The Otters are currently 21-29 and third place in the West Division.
