Quintus Ennius

Quintus Ennius was born in 239 BC in Calabria. He was Rome's first Tragedian. All that remain of his plays are some 20 titles, and 400 lines. He was heavily influenced by Euripides, and about a dozen of his titles can be traced to Euripides plays. Most of Ennius plays dealt with the myths surrounding the Trojan war, and the people involved with it. He was succeded by his student Marcus Pacuvius.
